United Grinding introduces the Mikrosa Kronos S 250 centerless grinding machine with an angular plunger design, designed for high-precision and high-volume production grinding of corundum and CBN. The grinding spindle of this grinder is mounted on maintenance-free hybrid roller bearings and can reach a peripheral speed of up to 150 m/s. CBN’s high-speed technology reduces cycle times and setup times.
This grinder is designed for plunge and through grinding of workpieces with diameters from 0.059″ to 1.378″ (1.5 to 35 mm) with plunge cutting widths up to 9.646″ (245 mm). For adjusting and grinding wheels, the cross grinder has a sliding system with digital drives and precision ball screws increases the flexibility of setting, dressing and grinding.
The editing of grinding and adjusting wheels is carried out along four CNC axes, centered in the plane of the workpiece. The machine is equipped with a heat-stable, vibration-absorbing granitan frame that allows for a wide range of applications from plunge grinding to through-hole and vibration grinding in single or multi-batch production.
The complete machine body complies with environmental standards and allows the use of various cooling media such as emulsions or grinding oils. Wide opening sliding doors provide easy access to the grinding center and simplify machine setup.
